Civil Unrest In Greece Is Proof Of The Effects Of Government Overspending

without comments

In case you have had your eyes closed and weren’t paying attention, there is a giant shit-storm happening in Greece.  There is civil unrest because the government in Greece is being forced to slash services in order to reduce its future debt liabilities.  People are pissed.

The basis for what is going on has nothing to do with Wall Street as many people would have you believe.  It has everything to do with the people who live in that nation demanding more services from their government than they are willing to or can even afford to pay for.

It is just like the 25 year old who runs up an absurdly high credit card balance before he realizes that he actually does have to pay all that money back with interest.  If you do not live within your means, then one day you will ultimately suffer for it.  When that day comes, it will be brutal.  The suffering will be severe.

Yet, people are too ignorant to see this coming.  This is why I am a republican and why I think most people would also be republicans if they were educated properly.   The democrat philosophy in general is to just keep taxing people more and more so that the government can provide for those people more and more.  The republican philosophy in general is to let people keep more of their money and provide for themselves.

The democrats don’t want people to realize that your overspending is a crime against yourself.  They want you to think that it’s someone else is responsible for you not being able to live up to the lifestyle standards you have set for yourself.  This is crap.  These are the lies and ignorance the left spreads that allows people like them to stay in power.

If you overspend, it is your own damn fault.  If the government overspends, it is the voters’ fault for electing people who will overspend.

The solution lies in education.  Unfortunately, with the laughable high school graduation rate around here and the rest of the country, it is very unlikely that the typical voter is going to get any more fiscally responsible over the next generation.  As a result, you can expect this country to follow right in the footsteps of Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy.  We might not suffer the consequences to the extremes that those nations are going to feel it.  Don’t fool yourself in thinking that we are going to avoid that pain altogether though.  You can bet that our day of reckoning is coming sooner than you think.

The one good thing that comes out of situations like this is that it forces voters to wake up.  It forces people to actually think for themselves for a change.  It encourages people to learn about what is happening and how it got this bad.  Then, hopefully, it brings out the common sense in people who want to get their country back on track again.  It makes people realize that if you ignore what is going on around you and trust these politicians to do what is in your best interest, they will let you down.

Are you sick of watching politicians prey on the ignorance of voters?

Are you a person who believes in fiscal responsibility and living within your means?

Then wake up man.

Do something about it.

Join the Tea party movement.  Don’t be afraid to tell your friends that you are sick and tired of these meathead politicians spending money that we don’t have.

Future generations of Americans will grow up in a very socialist country unless we remind our friends and neighbors that this country was founded in order to provide every freedom possible to every citizen.  Every dollar of your money that your government spends is one dollar less that you have to ensure your family is provided for adequately.

The way to win this argument is through education.  Spread the word.  Stop the government overspending.  Stop the madness.   Vote for those people that represent your beliefs that government should not overspend.  Remember that we ultimately decide how our country is to be governed based on who we elect.  Pay attention and vote.

Massachusetts Election Was A Wakeup Call

without comments

The headlines read “A Republican Victory in Massachusetts”.  Who would have thought that the seat held by the late liberal Democrat Ted Kennedy would be won by a Republican?  This can be seen in no other way than the voters regretting the massive shift in power that they gave to big government Democrats in the last presidential election.

If a Republican can win in Massachusetts, then a Republican can win anywhere in the United States.  People are sickened by what they are seeing happen in our government since Obama was elected and they want it to change.  This is the first step.

Don’t count the big government Democrats out yet though.  You can bet that they are going to be taking a step back to regroup.  Being the ever shrewd politicians that they are, you can bet that they will change their tone and switch to a more populist public message.  This is why Obama has decided to create a public warfare against the banks.  He knows that people will side with him over this one.  He knows that people are quick to adopt the notion of blaming a scapegoat whenever there is a problem.  The scapegoat for this whole financial mess is going to be the evil bankers.

People still refuse to accept the notion that it was in fact the people’s fault who took out these outrageous loans that lead to this real estate bubble.  It was the too easy monetary policy of the Federal Reserve that provided the underlying foundation for the bubble.  It was intervention by the Federal Reserve to artificially try to regulate an otherwise productive economy that lead to this mess.  It was the arrogance of the people running the Federal Reserve system thinking that they could somehow micromanage an economy that lead to this debacle.

People are starting to come back to their senses.  The shock of the financial collapse is starting to wear off.  The country is moving back toward where it has been over the last century for the most part.  That place is just right of center.  People want Federal government out of their lives, not in their lives.  When given enough time to think about things, people are smart enough to realize that government is not the cure for all that is wrong in society.  In fact, government over-regulation is in fact the cause of many problems.  The more laws we have, the more law breakers we will have.

Freedom is becoming popular again.  Hopefully we will see this carry through to the November elections.  Hopefully we will see some more of these big government commie bastards lose power and return it back to where it belongs, in the people’s hands.  This is our chance to ride the wave of political change back to free market capitalism.  Let’s not squander this opportunity.
